I should probably begin by saying that Agatha is not actually my real name; but that Agatha Christie has been an idol of mine, for a very long time. Poirot ( or David Suchet) first entered my childhood living-room when I was about ten and although it was way past my bedtime, I would sneak out to watch it as soon as I heard the distinctive theme song. Since then, I have spent quite an embarrassing number of hours consuming all that is Agatha Christie (even if I've read or seen them ten times before!).
When I decided that I wanted to write a story, I naturally decided to look to Agatha for advise. What would Agatha do? I asked. Although I didn't receive an answer right away, I knew one thing for certain; she wouldn't procrastinate. As the author of 66 crime novels, 20 plays and over 150 short stories, she was certainly one productive lady! She even found time to write 6 romance novels under a pseudonym!
But what about these daily doubts I'm having? I asked. As fellow self-doubters would have no doubt experienced, daily doubting can lead one to doubtfire. Admittedly, I'm a bit confused about this, but I've gathered it has something to do with igniting a fire against good; or drinking. Whilst I am partial to a glass of bubbles, I admit there may be potential pitfalls.

Anyway, Agatha Christie says; "the secret of getting ahead is getting started." So that's what I've decided to do and although I'm sure the doubts won't go away, I'm hoping she'll help me to slowly overcome them. Or at least, save me from too much doubtfire.
